About the event

The Rough Waters Gravel Grind is an epic one-day event beginning and ending in the beautiful town of Deer Lake, Newfoundland and Labrador.

With a choice of a 75km loop around Deer Lake (after which the town is named), or a 40km spin through scenic West Coast farmland, the RWGG promises beautiful views and rugged terrain in a crisp fall setting. We are also working on a big ride of 100km+ for the 2023 year, which will need recon in the spring. If you sign up for the 75 and decide you would like to do the Big Ride afterwards we can arrange payment for the difference.

The route uses a portion of the historic Newfoundland and Labrador T'Railway and takes you through Pasadena and Humber Valley Resort before returning through old logging roads which were once used for the West Coast's founding industry, the Pulp and Paper Mill.

Start time: 10:00 a.m. at Rough Waters Brewing for regular (75km) and short course (40km) riders. Big ride participants will start earlier at a time TBD based on our final distance.

Big ride (Distance TBD, 100km+) - $99.00 + at least a BNL General Membership.

75km - $77.50 + at least a BNL General Membership.

40km - $57.50 + at least a BNL General Membership.

This event is assembled in cooperation with the Town of Deer Lake, Deer Lake Holiday Inn, the Town of Pasadena, Cycle Solutions (Corner Brook) and of course Rough Waters Brewing.

Those visiting from away can take advantage of a very special booking deal with the Deer Lake Holiday Inn. Call (709) 635-3232 to inquire.

September 30, 2023. Registration closes September 16, 2023.
